They are the best!
So much appreciation for our Rockstar friends Daniel & his Mom, our fellow Mom & good friend Lisa! They are always going the distance to help fellow families and this weekend was no exception. When Lisa found out the Monmouth County Macy's was welcoming Kisses for Kyle with open arms to help collect gifts and to raise needed awareness for childhood cancer, she stepped up to offer their time, voices of knowledge and kindness. They drove quite a distance either way, represented Kisses for Kyle so well as always and will be driving quite a distance to make sure we have gifts collected in our hands. The Weissman family is quite special π₯°πππππ

Happy birthday Patrick! π
Happy birthday!π₯³
Yesterday our sweet friend Emilia was joined by her parents Kathrin & Brandon at the Montgomery Macy's to help Kisses for Kyle collect gifts, monetary donations, raise much needed awareness and share their journey of Emiliaβs battle with leukemia. This location holds an extra special connection as our family lived in the neighborhood and brought Kyle to this Macyβs often. When I found out how involved they became with collecting well over 100 gifts and several hundred dollars along with how welcoming they were, it brought my heart so much joy.
Emilia was a superstar handing out our wristbands as shoppers & employees stopped by our table. Over and above our big collection, Emilia was provided her very own gifts from Macyβs employees and a couple who stopped by!
Many thanks to their store Manager Kylie and all of the employees who helped to make yesterday a great success!!
This is the truest definition of #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork π₯°πππ

Emilia rocked it! And thanks mom and dad. You and Macys did an awesome job.
Over the next few days, we will be highlighting each Macy's location gift collection this weekend to provide gifts this holiday season during our current month of childhood cancer awareness. Several thousand gifts were collected and each store along with their Managers and our family volunteers deserve their standout recognition!
We begin with our Willow Grove Macyβs as this is where it all started!! They are our townβs Macyβs where our fellow Mom Lynda Albright works and decided to share our mission requesting Macyβs support. This magnificent partnership continues to beautifully blossom with tremendous support for our beloved families!!
Much appreciation to Lynda, Claire Conway to (their phenomenal Store Manager), Colleen Reidy who has been so equally and lovingly open to help our families so well throughout our tri-state region, all of their employees as well as our amazing family Christine Swenson, Maddie, Abby, and Isabelle for all of your help and support! The Swenson family volunteered yesterday, collecting several hundred gifts along with monetary donations, sharing our mission, filling up their vehicle 2 times and helping to inventory our donated gifts!!
Truly cannot wait to distribute this bounty of gifts this holiday season. Stay tuned for more highlights of this golden giveback partnership!!

Yeeeeeeessss, congrats to your warrior Wayne!!!!!!May God keep blessing you with the strength to chase your stars and dreams!!!!!
Way to go Wayne!! You are a true Warrior!! Perfect picture for such a joyous day. π
Soon after Kyle was diagnosed with leukemia on February 20th, 1998, I learned that 1 in every 330 children would develop cancer. It wasnβt something we heard often. Mostly a story on the news every now and again or a commercial for St Judeβs. We were not only in a terrible shock with his diagnosis and passing, it was astonishing to hear how many children it afflicted. Several years into running Kisses for Kyle, I started hearing about more and more cases, so much so, I began asking childhood oncology professionals I worked with if they were seeing an increase. I thought maybe it was because I was so aware yet they did share they were seeing more and more cases diagnosed. I kept thinking there would be a statistically update, which wound up happening. 1 in 330 leaped to 1 in 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer. As my footsteps continued, I saw social media take hold which helped to shape a broader way to share information, then I saw childhood cancer awareness month declared. More voices, more stories, a tremendous amount of awareness, especially from the time of when there was next to no awareness. So there is a thin line to visualize more voices speaking up to the reality of the true magnitude of this beast. At the very end of 2022, more reality set in, that horrific statistic of 1 in 285 has changed yet again. It is now estimated that 1 in 260 children will be diagnosed with cancer. The year Kyle was diagnosed, there was one floor dedicated to oncology at his hospital. They needed to dedicate another floor and found that wasnβt enough. Now there are more floors and hospitals due to the increased numbers. In my many years of being on the side of the day after my childβs diagnosis, I heartbreakingly have learned over the years, children I grew up with also had their day after, friends, family members, neighbors, and casual acquaintances have had their day after, and so many families we have helped over the years have shared a relative of theirs, their childβs classmate, their neighbor, their friend they grew up with, their current friend, and casual acquaintances have had their day after. No family deserves this diagnosis and what comes along with it. To everyone impacted by a childhood cancer diagnosis, my heart is with you. To everyone who has not experienced this firsthand, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping all of us to elevate awareness with your voices and help with your actions. I have lived through and witnessed the worst, yet I have witnessed and experienced the very best in life. There is nothing more appreciated and valuable than human kindness & compassion. Childhood cancer is not rare, too many families have our day before and day after diagnosis. Letβs hold hope in our hearts this is the last time statistics travel in this direction and all future updates trend towards children no longer being diagnosed with cancer. πππ ... See MoreSee Less
